What a fun idea, a divebarshirtclub! Different Dive Bars are chosen all around the United States to be the bar-of-the-month. You may ask, how does that work? Well let me tell you what I learned after being hired to photograph our local dive bar in Castell Texas.

For this project I was able to spend some time visiting with Jennifer Hollingshead, Manager, and the all colorful owner, Randy Leifeste! I learned about the Rooster but I will leave that story for Randy to tell.

I am so happy for Castell General Store to have been chosen to be the Bar-of-the-Month for August. All of the divebarshirtclub members will receive a t-shirt and a post card so they will know about this great place to visit. The club is pretty cool so check it out. With a small monthly membership you learn all about the dive bars around the country. Maybe you would like to join?!

I have been to this "store" a few times. Along with great beer they make awesome hamburgers. If that weren't enough, they even have a church service on Sunday which includes a 15 minute service and after that Screw Drivers and Bloody Mary's are on the house!

This was a fun job and outside of what I normally get to photograph out here in the Texas Hill Country! So happy for the opportunity.
